CASE Ukraine`s Executive Director Dmytro Boyarchuk made a forecast for the 2018 exchange rate. According to him, the course this year will fluctuate from UAH 28 to 30 Hryvnia per US dollar.
According to the economist, exchange rate fluctuations are mainly due to seasonal trends.
‘At the end of the year, one US dollar will be given UAH 30. We predict that, in the first and second quarter of the year, the rate will be about UAH 29 per dollar. Then, in the summer, he will drop to UAH 28 per dollar and, by the end of the year, again devalue to 30 UAH per dollar. There will be such an amplitude’, the economist said.
‘It is just that Ukraine experience a large trade deficit in the first and fourth quarters. In the summer, a pressure on the Hryvnia decreases’, he said.
