Viktor Yanukovych’s money distribution has started. Its majority went to the defense sector. CASE Ukraine`s CEO Dmytro Boyarchuk said to Deutsche Welle that the rest of the money should be delivered to repay public debt
According to the Executive Director of the CASE Ukraine Center for Socioeconomic Research Dmytro Boyarchuk, the best use of extraordinary income is to cover the public debt. It is about 80 percent of GDP. ‘Increasing spending is not feasible until the efficiency of using current money bulks does not improve,’ he added.
Where did the money go?
- 4 billion went to defense;
- 4 billion went to the development of rural medicine;
- 1 billion went to the construction of roads;
- 980 million went to the National Police;
- 700 million went to the State Border Guard Service. UAH 300 million will be transferred for strengthening of the state border;
- 200 million went to the National Guard of Ukraine;
- 40 million went to the State Service of Special Communications.
Where the remaining UAH 28 billion will go (General Prosecutor Office had confiscated these money form Yanukovych), remains unclear.
