The concept of granting social assistance upon participation in public (social) works. Guidelines for implementation of the proposed mechanisms (UKR)

Provision of social assistance to able-to-work unemployed recipients based on their involvement into public (social) works is a mechanism used in various countries around the world. Implementation of the mechanism in Ukraine may serve to encourage social assistance recipients to return to the labor market and to reduce the abuse from persons engaged in the informal sector and not declaring their income. The presentation gives an overview of the mechanism and assessment of potential consequences of its introduction.
