Unlike usual summer months June-July were full of important events. Former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko was finally brought to court.
Meanwhile, the authorities pushed several important legislative changes through Parliament, including a pension reform. Although the prosecution of former officials is a shame for Ukraine, recent changes in economic legislation (the approved land cadastre, a cleaned-up Tax Code, and a tune-up of the VAT refund system) were steps forward.
