CASE Ukraine, the partner institute of the World Economic Forum (WEF), has presented this year’s issue of the Global Competitiveness Report (GCR). Press-conference was held at the Interfax press-hall. Senior Economist of CASE Ukraine Vladimir Dubrovskiy and Executive Director Dmytro Boyarchuk have answered the questions of journalists.
Vladimir Dubrovskiy told what is competitiveness and how it is estimated, what trends the current Global Competitiveness Report show and what factors undermine the Ukraine’s rank. Ukraine continues to fall in the ranking to 89th position. The fall was caused primarily by weak institutions, macroeconomic instability, low efficiency of commodities and financial markets.
WEF provides the competitiveness research on yearly basis covering 139 countries. The report is the most comprehensive analysis of competitiveness factors of national economies. CASE Ukraine has been the partner of WEF in estimating the Ukraine’ ranking for 11 years already.
