Seminar on the ways of improving the social welfare system

20.12.2010 A seminar on the ways of improving the social welfare system in Ukraine took place in Kiev on November 26, 2010. The experts of CASE Ukraine presented the main achievements and recommendations made on the completion of the Social Assistance Reform Project.

The main ideas and results are given in the following presentations:

  1. Introducing uniform households means testing criteria for granting all types of social assistance, and improving the Techniques of Calculation of Family’s Aggregate Income for All Types of Social Assistance (UKR)
  2. Strengthening the institutional capacity and legal framework of the institute of public social inspectors, and broadening their functions with regard to attend to socially vulnerable family maintenance (UKR)
  3. Monitoring and evaluation of the Social Assistance Reform Project(UKR)
  4. Improving of mechanism of housing subsidies provision (UKR)
  5. Improving of mechanism of privileges provision (UKR)
  6. The concept of granting social assistance upon participation in public (social) works. Guidelines for implementation of the proposed mechanisms (UKR)
