Just as Gazprom officials predicted, no Christmas miracle deal emerged for selling Russian gas to Ukraine at a discounted price.
So Ukraine entered the new year still paying a gas price of more than $400 per 1000 m3, plus the liability of buying at least 33 bcm gas over the next 12 months.
