Partnership Development and Private Fundraising Specialist (Fundraiser)

27.08.2026 The Centre for Social and Economic Research “CASE Ukraine” is looking for a member of staff to help us build a network of private donors from among Ukrainian entrepreneurs and secure financial support from them.

One of the key components of this project is to secure donations from Ukrainian entrepreneurs who are interested in a predictable, fair and balanced tax system. First and foremost, this concerns the barriers to entrepreneurship outlined in this report.

What will need to be done

🔹 identify and collate data on potential private donors amongst business owners and managers;

🔹 establish contact with them and build relationships;

🔹 arrange meetings between them and the management of ‘CASE Ukraine’;

🔹 prepare proposals for supporting our activities;

🔹 request donations and negotiate their amount, type and methods of receipt;

🔹 maintain contact with donors after receiving a contribution and keep them informed of our progress;

🔹 maintain a database of prospective and existing donors;

🔹 expand the network through referrals, business associations, professional communities, personal contacts, etc.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who can build relationships with entrepreneurs and persuade them to support the creation of a favourable business environment through their contributions. Experience in fundraising isn’t essential, but it would, of course, be an advantage.

At the same time, we are also interested in applicants with experience in:

🔹 business development and B2B sales;

🔹 working with key accounts;

🔹 selling private banking and financial services;

🔹 developing partnerships with entrepreneurs;

🔹 collaborating ‘with’ and ‘within’ entrepreneurial communities;

🔹 fundraising and working with major private donors;

🔹 civil society organisations and charitable foundations.

Skills that are important to us

🔹 the ability to independently identify potential benefactors, establish connections with them and maintain long-term relationships;

🔹 experience in negotiating with business owners and managers;

🔹 the ability to listen and understand the interests of the person you are speaking to;

🔹 the ability to explain complex ideas convincingly and simply;

🔹 persistence without being overly pushy;

🔹 a systematic approach to managing a large number of contacts;

🔹 a willingness to plan your own work and take responsibility for the results.

The following would be an advantage:

– experience of working in the public sector;

– experience of securing private donations or corporate support;

– a personal network of contacts amongst entrepreneurs;

– an understanding of Ukraine’s tax and economic policies.

How we will assess performance

We do not expect a new employee to generate a large amount of donations straight away. Initially, the key outcomes will be:

– the number and quality of new contacts;

– the number of qualified potential donors;

– the number of conversations and meetings held;

– the number of proposals prepared;

– the size and quality of the portfolio of potential donations built up;

– the size, amount and regularity of initial contributions;

– the number of donors who agree to support ‘CASE Ukraine’ on a regular basis.

Once the network has been established, the key performance indicator will be the volume and consistency of private support for ‘CASE Ukraine’. Specifically, the ratio by which an employee’s income exceeds their salary costs.

What we offer

A 12-month contract (with a probationary period). At the end of the year, continued employment will depend on success in securing charitable donations;

A market-rate salary from the outset;

Remote working and a high degree of autonomy;

Mentoring and support from colleagues with similar experience and from the management of “CASE Ukraine” in establishing key connections;

The opportunity to contribute to genuine economic reforms in Ukraine.
