Center CASE Ukraine’s executive director Dmytro Boyarchuk told at the round table “International Organization’s Resources for Fighting Corruption in Ukraine”. The event took place on May 28 at parliamentary Committee on Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption.
In order to help non-professionals to understand the state budget, Center CASE Ukraine together with Eastern Europe Foundation launches a web-portal “The Price of the State”. The project is supported by Open Society Institute, European Union and UNITER, – said the president of Eastern Europe Foundation Viktor Liakh. Among the target audience are civil activists, journalists, students, common citizens. Portal will include analysis of the state budget, tax and pension calculators, simulator “The Receipt from the State”. With the help of these simple and evident instruments lay Ukrainians will be able to calculated paid taxes, forecast their pensions and estimate, which main items of state budget’s spending they financed last year.
Besides the web-site, within the project “The Price of the State” Center CASE Ukraine’s experts will held number of educational events, aimed to teach public to control spending of budget funds. Moreover, the network of NGO’s will be created, whose representatives will be involved in the budget monitoring. Also the experts will work with the journalists hand in hand in order to teach them to use resources developed within the project.
