CASE Ukraine is recognized as the best think tank in 2024

06.02.2025 The Center for Social and Economic Research CASE Ukraine received the annual Ayn Rand Awards for the Promotion of Freedom in Ukraine from the Ayn Rand Center Ukraine in 2024.

The Ayn Rand Center in Ukraine held the traditional annual Ayn Rand Awards ceremony on February 01, 2025. CASE Ukraine and Bendukidze Free Market Center were nominated for the Best Think Tank 2024 award for promoting freedom. CASE Ukraine received the award.

In 2024, CASE Ukraine conducted several research and advocacy campaigns. In particular, Ukraine’s unreliability and suboptimal rule of law hinder economic growth.

The think tank and its partners (the educational initiative “The Last Capitalist”, the Ukrainian Business Council, the Economic Expert Platform, etc.) also conducted an advocacy campaign to revise the National Revenue Strategy adopted by the Government of Ukraine, which established the presumption of taxpayer guilt, including granting tax authorities access to bank secrecy of legal entities and individuals without a court decision. As part of this campaign, we successfully collected 25 thousand signatures on a petition on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to revise the strategy.

Another area of CASE Ukraine’s research activities in 2024 was the assessment of the criminalization of customs clearance in Ukraine in terms of EU legislation. One of the tools is monitoring the punishment for smuggling of goods (in 2024, the criminalization of this type of crime was returned). This is the third “Ayn Rand Award for Advancing Liberty” CASE Ukraine in the “Best Think Tank” nomination. In 2022, The Price of the State (a project of CASE Ukraine) received the Ayn Rand Award for Advancing Liberty 2021 in the Best Think Tank of 2021 nomination for the initiative “Made with Taxpayer Funds”.

In 2023, CASE Ukraine received the Ayn Rand Award for Advancing Liberty in the Best Think Tank of 2023 category for developing a reform plan for Ukraine’s economic recovery, Economic Priorities for Postwar Ukraine.

CASE Ukraine was also nominated for the Best Think Tank of 2022 award.
